Christmas Knitting I Did (and didn't) Get Done
Well the Christmas season is behind us (but the snowy weather isn’t- UGH) and I always find it funny how many things I wanted to knit for gifts and how many things I ACTUALLY got knit.
If I had my way, I would likely spend all day by a fire designing, knitting and researching all things knitting. But alas that isn’t how life works so all I can do is be thankful for what I did get finished (along with all the other wonderful things in life to be thankful for). Specifically, I am thankful that I managed to knit a pair of knitted socks for each of my kids and for my mom – and the best part?…they are all matching. Matching Christmas socks for the whole fam…could it get much more fun than that?
As for the things that didn’t get finished: a pair of gloves for my mom – which I managed to finally complete in time for her birthday (in about a week) which you can see in my gallery if you’re curious. Then there’s my sister’s Christmas gift which I can hopefully finish up and mail to her soon. (You’ll see it in the shop soon but I can’t post it until I get it to her or it will ruin the surprise).
Of course, I’m still knitting for my shop and working on future designs and I’m also working on my “Master Hand Knitting” (I’ll discuss this further in a future blog – when I’m all done the course). And, the hilarious part is that I’m already thinking about what to knit for my family for next Christmas – because I have this fantasy that this year will be different and I tell myself that I’ll plan ahead so I’m not knitting last minute (like on Dec 24th lol). The same thing I tell myself every January and before you know it Christmas comes again.
All of this while still trying to work on…well, you know… work. Not to mention all of the other stuff that life entails (which seems to take even longer in the snowy, wintery weather which I’m not complaining about by the way – ok maybe a little). Anyway, I truly hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and I pray you all have an amazing 2023.
And, whether you like complaining about the weather or not, remember to Stick to the Knitting 😊
